My Story

​

I am Anthony Cox (Coxy to my friends), and at Hourglass Woodwork I design and build beautiful custom furniture. For almost 15 years, I worked as an accountant for some of the largest businesses in the world. I was hungry to solve problems and make the world a better place. This was until I realised that I wasn't really making the impact I was craving.

I decided I needed to make a change and went after the thing I am truly passionate about - Furniture Making! I took a risk, and turned my back on the corporate life to establish Hourglass Woodwork.

For the last few years, I have been spending every spare moment in my workshop designing timber furniture. I realised that there was nothing I wanted more than to be able to call myself a 'maker'. So here I am, diligently creating custom furniture for you to enjoy in your homes as much as I do - My pieces are built to last a lifetime and take pride of place in your home.
